Factory fire in Silivri

The fire started in the morning at the factory located in the industrial zone of Ortaköy Neighborhood. While the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, numerous fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. Thanks to the early intervention of the teams, the fire was brought under control and the spread of the flames was prevented.

As part of the work being carried out at the scene, firefighting crews are evacuating the heavy smoke from the building. It has been learned that there are no deaths or injuries so far, and operations in the surrounding area are continuing. Meanwhile, the fire has been largely brought under control.

Describing the moment of the incident, Abdulkadir Orhan said, “I saw the flames while I was carrying materials in the morning. We couldn't go inside. We saw that once the fire trucks arrived, they tried to bring the fire under control as you can see. Those inside had already gotten out. There were 5–6 people working. They say a lighter exploded. We work at the factory across the street.”

İbrahim Kıran stated, “We went outside when we saw the smoke. We were in the back. It is our neighbor, we are saddened. They were producing the rubber material inside the cables, the outer casing of the copper. There was quite a lot of raw material inside as well. We heard there was diesel inside. We wish them a speedy recovery.”
