Fake prosecutor caught by real prosecutor in Şanlıurfa
In Şanlıurfa, an individual identified as A.P., who posed as a public prosecutor working in Ankara and attempted to expedite the legal affairs of his relatives in prison, was caught thanks to the vigilance of a prosecutor who grew suspicious of his behavior.
A.P., who came to the Şanlıurfa Courthouse to expedite the proceedings for his uncle M.K., who is being held at the penal institution in Şanlıurfa, so that he could be brought back to court, introduced himself as an Ankara Public Prosecutor and requested a meeting with the prison prosecutor. A.P., who was taken to the prison prosecutor's office by staff, explained to the prosecutor the reason for his presence in Şanlıurfa.
SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR GAVE THE FAKE PROSECUTOR AWAY
The prison prosecutor, who noticed the suspicious behavior of A.P.—who had requested that the proceedings for his uncle M.K., currently detained in prison, be expedited for a court referral—asked the person in his office to show his identification. The prison prosecutor checked the ID and asked where he worked in Ankara. Upon the suspect giving contradictory answers, law enforcement officers on duty at the courthouse were notified. The teams that went to the prison prosecutor's office determined that the ID shown by the person posing as a prosecutor was fake.
A.P., who was taken into custody, was found to be in possession of two additional identity cards deemed to be fake. After his procedures at the police station, the fake prosecutor A.P. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested and sent to prison by the duty magistrate on charges of 'Forgery of Official Documents'.
