In the police housing units in the Artuklu district of Mardin, police officer H.Ş. (31), who was serving at the Provincial Security Directorate, shot and killed his wife, nurse M.Ş., and their son K.H.Ş. (3) with his service weapon, before taking his own life with the same weapon.

Upon hearing gunfire, his colleagues living in the housing units entered the home with the help of a locksmith and found the three individuals shot.

112 Emergency Health teams dispatched to the scene upon notification determined that all three individuals had lost their lives at the scene.

Following the investigations, the bodies were transported to the Mardin Training and Research Hospital morgue by medical teams.
