Family murder in Istanbul: Father kills his son

The incident occurred around 02:30 in Istanbul's Kağıthane Nurtepe neighborhood. Ali Çiftçi, who had left the house following an argument, returned home on the night of the incident.

HE PULLED A GUN ON HIS FATHER

Ali Çiftçi, who was initially not allowed into the house, was let in after a while with his father's permission. According to allegations, Ali Çiftçi pulled a gun on his father and demanded money. Following this, his father, Erol Çiftçi, got into a fight with his son. The father, Çiftçi, shot his son after taking the weapon from his hand.

Ali Çiftçi, who was shot in various parts of his body, lost his life at the scene. This murder committed in Kağıthane became the first murder incident in Istanbul in the new year. The father surrendered to the police teams that were called to the scene.

"HE BEAT US FOR DRUG MONEY"

Erol Çiftçi, whose statement was taken at the police station, was referred to the courthouse after legal proceedings were initiated for the crime of "intentional homicide." In his statement, the father, Çiftçi, said that his son had been demanding money from him for drugs for a long time, that he had beaten him and his wife and hurled insults at them, and that he had therefore kicked his son out of the house. He claimed that on the day of the incident, his son had gotten him to open the door by speaking sweet words and then pulled a gun on him, but that he had taken the weapon from his hand during the ensuing scuffle and opened fire on his son.

The father, Çiftçi, who was sent to the courthouse, was arrested and sent to prison.
