Father assaulted in front of his children on Marmaray speaks out: Decision on the attacker! Here are his first words...

The incident that took place at the Marmaray Süreyya Plajı Station in Istanbul has caused a major stir in public opinion. A father named D.E., who was traveling with his two children, was assaulted following an argument over giving up a seat during the journey. In the ensuing scuffle, D.E.'s nose was broken. The perpetrator of the incident was arrested today and sent to prison.

The fight was captured by security cameras at the station and by the mobile phone cameras of citizens. While the footage quickly became a trending topic on social media, many people shared messages of support for the father who was attacked in front of his children's eyes.

Regarding the incident, which has deeply disturbed the public conscience, organized crime leader Sedat Peker expressed his reaction by retweeting a post about the assaulted D.E. that included the phrase "We will meet..."

Describing the trauma he experienced to Ekol TV, D.E. recounted the moment of the incident with these words:

"My children's and my own psychological state is in a very bad condition. There was a lady at the entrance here; as I was trying to enter with my children, you can appreciate that there isn't a three-person entry space there. I couldn't get in while carrying my twins. I said, 'Why are you standing in front of the door? What is the point of standing here when the seats in the back are empty?' She said, 'Move through there, brother.' I got angry; why should I have to pass through there?"

D.E. explained that the violence he experienced was not just a verbal argument and that it turned into a fight due to external intervention, using these words:

"That is public transport, it has rules. Why would I pass through there? We argued with the lady. The man outside is pushing me. If you notice, that man who escalated the issue, the man who threw the punch, was about to get off. Then, when that man started shouting, he turned back. The incident escalated."

The attacker, who was seen at the courthouse, said, "I am very regretful, I did not notice the children."
