Journalist Fatih Altaylı was arrested on charges of making threatening remarks targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his YouTube channel. Altaylı appeared before the judge on October 3.

The court panel, announcing its interim decision, ruled for the continuation of the detention of the defendant Fatih Altaylı.

The court decided to send the file to the prosecutor for the preparation of the opinion on the merits and adjourned the hearing to November 26.

Following this development, Altaylı, who shared a video containing only text on his YouTube channel, had announced that he was taking a break from YouTube for a while.

Journalist Bahar Feyzan visited Altaylı in prison. In her statement, Feyzan expressed that Altaylı is tired of politics, saying, "He wants to continue with science and interview programs." Feyzan continued her statement by saying, "Do not perceive this as him being afraid or taking a step back."
