Fatih Altaylı's prosecutor statement revealed: 'Whoever wanted to understand what they wanted...'

An investigation was launched against Fatih Altaylı for "praising a crime and a criminal" and "publicly inciting and insulting a segment of the public to hatred and hostility" after he posted "Well done" on his social media account following the punching of İsmail Aydemir over a tawhid flag during the 'Mercy to the martyrs, support for Palestine, curse on Israel' march organized by foundations and associations close to the government.

Within the scope of the investigation, Altaylı came to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan to give his statement to the Prosecutor's Office.

After giving his statement to the Prosecutor's Office, he was released by the on-duty judgeship with judicial control conditions, including a travel ban and a requirement to sign in.

Meanwhile, the statement Altaylı gave to the Prosecutor's Office has been revealed.

It was learned that in his statement, Altaylı said, "I would like to say the following regarding the tweet I posted on social media saying 'Well done'. On the day of the incident, while I was sitting with a friend who owns an advertising agency, many posts started to be made on social media regarding the event that took place in Istanbul. I told my friend, 'I'm going to post a tweet now, let's see who takes it personally,' and I tweeted 'Well done'. After this tweet, many people, whether they participated in the rally or not, started to insult me in ways like 'AKP dog, enemy of religion, Zionist dog,' depending on what they understood. As can be understood from the insults, I did not specify any person or institution in my tweet. My purpose in posting this tweet was to measure reactions, conduct a social experiment based on this, and write an article afterwards. Once I achieved my goal, I removed it from social media. Whoever wanted to understand what they wanted, understood that. I absolutely do not accept the accusations."
