Minimum wage statement from Fatih Erbakan: 'At least...'

Yeniden Refah Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan held a press conference at the TBMM. Evaluating the 2025 budget, Erbakan reminded that taxes would be increased by 44 percent. Erbakan stated, "Despite this, the raise to be given to minimum wage earners, workers, civil servants, and retirees will be below this rate."

Arguing that the path and methods followed in the fight against inflation are flawed, Erbakan continued his words as follows:

"Steps are being taken to curb demand and further reduce the purchasing power of low-income earners under the guise of fighting inflation. This is the wrong method. Our inflation is not demand-driven inflation. To fight inflation, we must absolutely increase supply. We clearly see that there is no projection in the 2025 budget aimed at increasing supply and production, nor is the allocation of resources sufficient."

Announcing the figure proposed by the Yeniden Refah Party for the minimum wage, Erbakan said, "The minimum wage should be at least 35 thousand liras, and the lowest pension should also be brought to the level of the minimum wage."
