Fatih Terim: Success is claimed by everyone, while failure is dumped on one person...

Fatih Terim, who parted ways with Panathinaikos 4 days ago after serving for approximately 6 months, spoke to the Greek media outlet ERT. 

As reported by Beinsports, Terim said, "I am very grateful to the Greek people for showing me respect and love wherever I am. I am truly happy to have received respect and love even from fans who are not Panathinaikos supporters." 

Stating that Greece and Turkey are similar in that success is claimed by everyone while failure is dumped on one person, Terim noted that he was welcomed with great interest when he arrived but returned to his country alone, adding the following:

"There is something I asked and kept saying while working; it is important that we applaud and support the players not just when they arrive, but also when they leave, rather than just gathering a crowd for them when they arrive. When I came here, there were many people who wanted to take photos and say nice things to me until I went inside. Being a crowd and not being real is worse than being few in number and being real."

Terim, who managed a total of 26 matches with the Greek team, recorded 14 wins, 6 draws, and 6 losses.

Panathinaikos, managed by Terim, had lost its last 3 matches played in the Greek Super League Play-offs.
