FETÖ's new education structure exposed: They established a backup unit called 'PLUS 1'
It has been learned that FETÖ has established a backup unit called 'PLUS 1' to intervene in places where student activities linked to its education structure are disrupted or at risk of being exposed. In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that 41 defendants, listed as "suspects," organized events under the guise of "activities" and "lessons" to carry out the orders of FETÖ and the terrorist organization's ringleader Fethullah Gülen, and to continue organizational propaganda targeting young girls.
The indictment, which explains that the defendants provided for the needs of students at university, high school, and primary school levels in organization-run houses where they were placed, states that the organization launched a "student mobilization" under the newly exposed "student structure." It was reported that in this structure, those who had previously worked in organization-affiliated institutions or had been dismissed, as well as individuals dismissed from other professions, were serving under the guise of educational coaching.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID
The indictment states that some defendants serving as teachers here provided housing, scholarships, and financial aid to students whose families had ties to FETÖ and who were attending university, and that the needs of student groups at different educational levels, such as university, middle school, and primary school, were met.
The indictment reported that among the defendants, Tuba Keşoğlu was an educational consultant in the student structure, Zeynep Şevval Tekin was responsible for high school students, Rabia Çelik for university students, and Rabia Battal Genç for primary school students.
The indictment explains that the organization had 4 student houses on the European side of Istanbul belonging to the "Beylikdüzü Female Student Structure," coded as "Çağla," "Kardelen," "Manolya," and "New House," and that scholarships were provided to students staying there, and that the defendants also established 2 chat houses.
CODE NAME 'IKRA'
The indictment states that the defendants organized a camp program in the village of Akören in Silivri for middle and high school students under the age of 18 whose families had ties to FETÖ. It was noted that Zeynep Şevval Tekin, codenamed "Ikra," who was responsible for this camp, had no expertise in teaching or education, considering she was a graduate of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, and that the programs organized were carried out within the scope of the "organization's current structure."
In the indictment, it was emphasized that the defendant Rabia Battal Genç, codenamed "Esra," was an English teacher who graduated from a university abroad and had no expertise in religious subjects, and that defendant Genç tried to instill the organization's ideology in primary school students by exploiting religious topics.
ORGANIZATION LEADER'S VIDEOS WERE WATCHED
The indictment also included the statement of one of the defendants, Z.Z.Y., taken within the scope of effective remorse provisions.
According to this, the defendant, who explained that she lived in Pendik and was looking for a house in the area close to Istanbul University where she was studying, saw a house advertisement in an application that she later learned was an organization house in Beylikdüzü. She stated that she moved there after Rabia Çelik, whom she knew as Begüm and whose real name she learned at the police station, called her after she left her contact information on the ad and told her that she could stay in the house and that she would help with the rent.
The defendant, who also revealed the names of some people staying with her in this house in her statement, said, "Rabia Çelik would send us a table with tasks under the names of 'Bronze, Gold, and Diamond' packages at certain intervals. The religious duties that needed to be done in each package were written here. We were given rewards in return for doing these. I did not benefit from this reward because I could not complete the tasks. Rabia Çelik was constantly warning and reminding us to do the tasks. They wanted us to read and listen to the Fethullah Gülen videos and quotes shared on the '5dkokuyorum' account on social media. However, I did not follow these instructions they gave."
'PLUS 1' DETAIL
According to the information note from the Counter-Terrorism Department included in the indictment, it was stated that a backup unit called 'PLUS 1' was established to intervene in places where student activities linked to the organization's education structure were disrupted or at risk of being exposed.
The indictment explains that the PLUS 1 structure carries out activities such as auditing ongoing student activities and taking care of students who attend universities with ties to the organization and live in their own homes. It was also stated that this structure works by establishing businesses that appear legal to help the so-called victimized families of organization members who were dismissed by Decree-Law (KHK) or went to prison, and that each "PLUS 1" official is responsible for taking care of at least 1 so-called victim (sibling) family and providing financial aid.
ESCAPE ROUTE FOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION MEMBERS
The indictment states that as a result of the operations carried out against the terrorist organization, the suspect organization members currently have no action plans, and the expectation among organization members that everything will get better has been replaced by despair, noting that organization members are looking for grounds to flee abroad through illegal means.
The indictment explains that priority is given to the escape of organization members who are being tried and convicted due to their FETÖ ties and are subject to judicial control provisions until the verdict is finalized, and it also includes information that there are 5 escape routes.
The indictment describes how an organization member can escape to Greece via the Meriç River, by fast assault boats from Bodrum, and by private VIP yachts from İzmir, and that escapes are also made, albeit rarely, via Hatay to Syria and via Artvin to Georgia by cooperating with human smugglers. It was stated that organization members who will be smuggled abroad through illegal means are also given clothing and mobile phones that the organization wants them to wear.
In the indictment, while it is requested that 37 defendants be sentenced to prison for 7 years and 6 months to 15 years each for the crime of "being a member of an armed terrorist organization," it is requested that 4 defendants who want to benefit from the effective remorse provisions be sentenced to 2 years and 6 months to 3 years and 9 months in prison for the same crime.
The trial of the defendants will begin in the coming days within the scope of the indictment accepted by the Istanbul 24th High Criminal Court.
