FETÖ operation in 4 provinces centered in Ankara
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the detention of 15 suspects in an operation centered in Ankara across 4 provinces.
In accordance with the instructions issued by the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the investigations conducted into the secret service structure of the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
As a result of the coordinated and meticulous work between the unit established within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and law enforcement agencies, it was determined that 15 suspects—8 of whom are active, 6 dismissed, and 1 a civilian—used the organization's secret communication tool, the Bylock messaging program, and had records of statements against them as well as sequential calls from payphones/fixed lines. A decision was made to detain them simultaneously in 4 provinces centered in Ankara.
It was reported that operations to apprehend the suspects and refer them to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are being continued by teams from the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch.
