FETÖ operation in 12 provinces: Financial network under scrutiny

The Ministry of Interior announced that a large-scale operation against FETÖ was carried out in 12 provinces, centered in İzmir. During the operations, 80 suspects were detained, and searches of the addresses resulted in the seizure of foreign currency, precious metals, and Turkish lira worth approximately 3 million 324 thousand lira, along with numerous documents and digital materials.

FETÖ operation in 12 provinces: Financial network under scrutiny

The Ministry of Interior announced that simultaneous operations were carried out in 12 provinces, centered in İzmir, as part of investigations into FETÖ.

According to the statement from the Ministry, the operations were conducted under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's Intelligence Department, the Counter-Terrorism Department, and the offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor. Provincial police departments' counter-terrorism branches also participated in the operations.

Within the scope of the efforts, operations were conducted at designated addresses in İzmir, as well as in Adana, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bilecik, Denizli, Düzce, Isparta, Kütahya, Manisa, Niğde, and Uşak.

80 SUSPECTS DETAINED

A total of 80 suspects were apprehended and detained during the operations.

It was alleged that the suspects were active within the organization's current educational structure, as well as its women's and men's branches.

Furthermore, it was claimed that the suspects continued to operate at a responsible level within the organization and provided financial support to it.

ALLEGATIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN OVERSEAS CAMPS

The Ministry's statement also included notable findings from the investigations conducted regarding the suspects.

Accordingly, it was determined that the suspects had participated in organizational training camp activities held abroad on different dates under the guise of travel arrangements.

It was also reported that the suspects were found to have covered the rent, food, and various basic needs of houses belonging to the organization.

3.3 MILLION LIRA IN CASH AND PRECIOUS METALS SEIZED

Searches were conducted at the suspects' addresses as part of the operation.

During the searches, foreign currency, precious metals, and Turkish lira worth approximately 3 million 324 thousand 786 lira were seized.

Security forces also confiscated a large number of documents and digital materials.
