FETÖ operation in 28 provinces: 44 public employees detained
Detention warrants were issued for 44 individuals currently serving in public institutions on allegations of being 'covert imams' within the FETÖ structure.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 44 individuals currently serving in public institutions have been detained as a result of simultaneous operations carried out in 28 provinces, on allegations of being 'covert imam supervisors' within the FETÖ structure.
The following statement was made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the matter:
“Within the scope of investigations conducted by our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau; it has been decided that (46) suspects, who are 'Police Covert Supervisors' appointed by the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization to target the General Directorate of Security, to nest within it, to recruit members, to code police personnel according to the organization's own internal system, and to track and record the organizational loyalty status of recruited members, and who are understood to be currently working actively in various public institutions or organizations, be detained simultaneously in 28 provinces centered in Ankara, starting from 21.05.2024. So far, 44 suspects have been apprehended and detained. The investigation is continuing in a multi-faceted manner.”
