FETÖ operation in İzmir: 23 detained

Under the coordination of the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Organized Crime Branch and the Intelligence Branch conducted an investigation into the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization.

During the investigation, digital materials were seized from a waiter who was a secret witness. Arrest warrants were issued for a total of 22 suspects: 15 dismissed police officers who had data entries indicating they were organization members and statements regarding their participation in organizational meetings, and 7 individuals who had finalized prison sentences or arrest warrants and were found to be hiding in houses referred to as "gaybubet" (safe houses) to evade capture. In the operation carried out at the suspects' addresses, a total of 23 people, including 1 suspect in addition to the targeted suspects, were apprehended and detained.

Meanwhile, it was stated that judicial proceedings against the suspects are ongoing.
