FETÖ operation in the police force: 33 people, 20 of whom are still on duty, detained!

Within the scope of investigations conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was decided to simultaneously detain 38 suspects, who are 'secret handlers' of the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization within the police force, in an Ankara-based operation. So far, 33 of the suspects have been apprehended and taken into custody.

Within the scope of investigations conducted by the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization targeted the General Directorate of Security for activities such as nesting, recruiting, coding police personnel according to the system created by the organization itself, and tracking and recording the organizational loyalty status of the recruited members. Consequently, it was decided to simultaneously detain 38 suspects, who were assigned as 'secret imams' by the organization—20 of whom are public personnel still actively working in various public institutions or organizations—as 'police secret handlers,' starting from May 5, 2025, in an Ankara-based operation.

So far, 33 of the suspects have been apprehended and taken into custody. It was reported that the Ankara Provincial Police Department teams are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects and refer them to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
