Fine for AKP deputy's company
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change announced that a fine of nearly 3 million Turkish Lira has been imposed on Alagöz Mining, a company owned by AKP Iğdır Deputy Cantürk Alagöz.
In a statement issued by the Ministry, it was stated that an inspection conducted by the Giresun Provincial Directorate teams determined that wastewater from the mine belonging to Alagöz Mining Company was being discharged into Çatalağaç Creek.
2 MILLION 517 THOUSAND TL FOR REPEATED VIOLATION
The statement noted that measures have been taken and stated the following:
"In the inspection conducted by our Giresun Provincial Directorate teams, it was determined that wastewater from the mine belonging to Alagöz Mining Company was being discharged into Çatalağaç Creek. Within the scope of the Environmental Law, the underground gallery section of the mine causing pollution has been closed until necessary measures are taken. Furthermore, due to the repetition of the violation, a triple sanction was applied to the facility, resulting in a fine of 2 million 517 thousand TL."
