Fined for illegal fishing with electroshock in the lake
In the Beyşehir district of Konya, 3 people caught fishing for freshwater fish using the illegal electroshock method in the lake were fined a total of 732 thousand liras.
According to the information obtained, during joint inspections carried out by the Beyşehir National Parks Chief Office under the 8th Regional Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and the Beyşehir Gendarmerie Public Security Boat Command on the shores of Gölkaşı Neighborhood in Beyşehir, within the borders of Beyşehir Lake National Park, 3 people were caught who were determined to be fishing for freshwater fish by applying an electric current to the lake waters—a method known as electroshock—despite it being prohibited, and who had arrived at the shore in a commercial vehicle.

A TOTAL FINE OF 732 THOUSAND LIRAS
During the inspections, carp fish found in a sack, which were determined to have been caught using the electroshock method, as well as 1 inverter device (electroshock device) used in illegal fishing, 1 battery, and 1 landing net used to remove the fish from the water were seized.

While proceedings were initiated against the three hunters, it was learned that a total administrative fine of 732 thousand liras was imposed.
