Fire at a 6-story hotel in Bakırköy: 12 injured, 7 evacuated
A fire that broke out at a 6-story hotel in the Cevizlik neighborhood of Bakırköy was extinguished in approximately 1 hour. 12 people were injured in the incident.
In Istanbul's Bakırköy district, 12 people were injured and 7 were evacuated by fire crews during a fire at a 6-story hotel.
The fire started around 06:30 on the first floor of the hotel located on Muhasebeci Street in the Cevizlik neighborhood. The flames, which rose for reasons yet to be determined, grew quickly and spread through the building.
It was reported that various explosions occurred at the hotel during the fire and that some guests staying inside were trapped. Upon notification by those in the vicinity, ambulances, police, and numerous fire crews were dispatched to the area.
While fire crews evacuated 7 people from the hotel, 12 injured individuals were taken to a nearby state hospital following initial intervention by medical teams.
The fire was extinguished as a result of approximately 1 hour of work by the crews. Following cooling efforts, an investigation into the cause of the fire was initiated.
