Fire panic in Kocaeli! 1 person lost their life
One person lost their life in a fire that broke out in the attic of an apartment building in Kocaeli.
A fire broke out for an as-yet-undetermined reason in an attic apartment of a 4-story building on Şahin Street in the Kazım Karabekir neighborhood of Darıca district.
Upon reports from those in the vicinity, health, police, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters who extinguished the blaze discovered a burned male corpse in the home during their checks.
The body, identified as belonging to 40-year-old Muhammet Ali Alma, was taken to the Gebze Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy.
His father, Bahattin Alma, who fell ill upon receiving the news of his son's death, was taken to Darıca Farabi Training and Research Hospital by medical teams.
The investigation launched by the police into the incident is ongoing.
