Firefighter trapped in flames in Diyarbakır

A fire broke out on the roof of Block D in a residential complex on Baba Tahir Street in the Fırat neighborhood of Diyarbakır's Kayapınar district. 

The fire, which started for reasons yet unknown, was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center by building residents. Upon the report, numerous fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

DESCENDED WITH A HOSE

While teams were struggling to bring the fire under control, firefighters Halil Eskimiş, Cengiz Oruç, and another firefighter whose name could not be learned were trapped among the flames on the roof. On the burning roof, firefighter Halil Eskimiş lost his balance and fell to the ground while attempting to descend by holding onto a fire hose.

HOSPITALIZED

Medical teams at the scene transported the firefighter to Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital following initial intervention.

While the fire was brought under control after long efforts, the other 2 firefighters were brought down from the roof with the help of teams. The moment of the fire and the firefighter's fall were captured on camera, and Eskimiş's treatment at the hospital continues.
