AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli at his residence yesterday (May 6).

The two figures met face-to-face for the first time in 117 days. Details of the summit in Ankara have been reached.

According to a report by Türkiye Gazetesi, known for its proximity to the government, it was learned that the main agenda of the meeting was the new opening process they call a 'Terror-Free Turkey.' In addition to the steps to be taken within the scope of the new process, the process of the terrorist organization PKK dissolving itself and counter-terrorism operations in Syria and Iraq were discussed.

ERDOĞAN'S RE-NOMINATION

During the meeting, which lasted approximately 35 minutes, Turkey's position in foreign policy, relations with the new US administration, current issues in the TRNC, and new constitution efforts were also addressed. The 'constitutional amendment proposal for President Erdoğan to be able to run for office again,' which Bahçeli had previously voiced, took its place among the hot topics between the alliance partners.

It was noted that Erdoğan and Bahçeli also evaluated the operations conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB).
