First response to Akşener, who announced she would sue Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Ümit Özdağ: 'I am pleased'

Meral Akşener, the founding chair of the İYİ Party who resigned from her post after the March 31 Local Elections, has announced that she will file a lawsuit against former CHP Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Zafer Party Chair Ümit Özdağ.

Speaking to Aytunç Erkin, Akşener said, "I will take both Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Ümit Özdağ to court with my lawyer. Because 'treason' and 'immorality' are two very heavy words." The first response to Akşener's announcement that she would file a lawsuit came from Ümit Özdağ.

Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ had made striking statements about Meral Akşener. Özdağ claimed that Akşener had knowingly ensured President Tayyip Erdoğan was re-elected president in 2018. Upon this, Akşener announced that she would file a lawsuit against both Ümit Özdağ and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Akşener spoke as follows:

Therefore, Kılıçdaroğlu said 'immorality' yesterday, and we will settle accounts with him in court. Everything, including everything I have kept to myself, will be in the petition in a very clear and precise manner.
