First statement following the Otokoç attack

In the morning hours, the Otokoç General Directorate building located in Maltepe, Istanbul, was subjected to an armed attack by two identified individuals. It was learned that there was no loss of life or injury in the incident. Police teams, who reached the area in a short time, detained two people thought to be related to the attack.

In Antalya, a similar incident occurred at an Otokoç dealership. While material damage occurred at the workplace in this attack, the attackers fled the scene. Security units have launched a large-scale operation to capture the perpetrator or perpetrators.

Following the attacks, AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made the following post on social media:

"We condemn the attacks on Koç Holding institutions.

Those who target Turkey's peace will not be able to escape our security forces and will be held accountable before the law.

We will never allow those who want to stir up our country."

Immediately before the events, a joke told by businessman Rahmi Koç during the opening of the American Hospital in Izmir had drawn reactions. Following this, an investigation was launched into Rahmi Koç, who had stated, "I sincerely apologize for my words, which were not intended to target any identity. I would like to share my sadness sincerely."
