First statement from AKP: 'Israel is a threat to the entire world'

The Israeli military announced that it had launched a comprehensive air operation targeting Iran's nuclear program in the morning hours. It was reported that those targeted included Iranian Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami, and several high-level nuclear scientists. It was learned that at least 5 people lost their lives in civilian residential areas during the attacks. Iran, for its part, sent a message that there would be a "harsh response" to the attacks. The US stated that it had no connection to the operation.

AKP Spokesperson Çelik argued that Israel has dragged the region into a new crisis with this latest move. He included the following statements in his remarks:

"We see that Israel has added a new one to its savage and barbaric attacks that set the entire region on fire by attacking Iran. We condemn this unlawful attack in the strongest possible terms. No justification for Israel can be accepted as legitimate. This is clearly barbaric aggression."

Çelik emphasized that the warnings previously made by President Erdoğan against the actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government should be taken into account. Reminding that Israel's attacks in Gaza have received serious criticism from the international community, Çelik suggested that this latest attack on Iran is an attempt to divert attention away from Gaza.

"By carrying out this attack at a time when negotiations between the US and Iran are ongoing, Israel has once again shown that it approaches all diplomatic efforts for peace with hostility," said Çelik, who concluded his statement with these words:

"Israeli aggression is a threat not only to the region but to the entire world. The international community must now take concrete steps and develop a joint response against this lawlessness."
