Comedian Deniz Göktaş, who is under investigation due to his latest stand-up show "Ölü Deniz" (Dead Sea), addressed the situation in a statement on his social media account. Göktaş stated that he has not received any official notification regarding the investigation.

Noting that he has received numerous questions regarding the investigation, Göktaş used the following expressions in his post:
"The entire show is still on YouTube. Many questions have come in; there is no official information that has reached me. If there is, I will inform you here."
"I HAVE NO PLANS TO LIVE OUTSIDE OF TURKEY"
Responding to claims circulating on social media that he would move abroad, Göktaş expressed that he has no intention of leaving Turkey.
The comedian used the following expressions in his post:
"No matter what, I have no plans to live or perform stand-up outside of Turkey, because it wouldn't be the same."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation had been launched into Deniz Göktaş due to statements he made during his stand-up show titled "Ölü Deniz". Certain remarks made during the show, which took place at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater, were cited as the reason for the investigation.
In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was said, “An investigation has been launched by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the suspect Deniz Göktaş, regarding whom criminal elements were detected in content published on certain social media platforms.”
HE HAD ANNOUNCED HE WAS ABROAD FOR VACATION
In a previous post made after the news of the investigation broke, Deniz Göktaş had stated that he was abroad as part of a vacation he had planned for a long time.
In that statement, Göktaş had said, "If there is a situation that requires me to be in Turkey, I will return on the first flight."
