First statement from the Palace regarding the Iranian missile that fell in Gaziantep! 'We reiterate our warning once again'

On the 10th day of the US-backed Israel-Iran war, a ballistic missile fired from Iran entered Turkish airspace. The Ministry of National Defense announced that the ballistic munition that entered Turkish airspace was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense elements stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

A statement from Tehran regarding the matter is awaited.

Meanwhile, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran also made a statement regarding the Iranian missile on his social media account.

Duran included the following statements in his announcement:

“A ballistic missile, which was detected to have been fired from Iran and directed toward our country, was timely engaged and neutralized by NATO air and missile defense elements over the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep. There was no loss of life or injury in the incident.

The development has been closely monitored by all our institutions from the very first moment; necessary defense and security measures have been immediately activated. In this context, all our relevant units, primarily the Ministry of National Defense, are acting in full coordination. Our state's will and capacity to protect Turkey's airspace and border security are at the highest level.

It is of great importance that the tension in the region does not escalate further and that the conflicts do not spread to a wider area. We once again strongly reiterate our warning to all parties, especially Iran, to refrain from actions that risk regional security and could endanger civilians.

During this process, we kindly request our citizens and media organizations to show sensitivity toward content that is unverified, could cause public panic, and contains disinformation; and to rely only on statements made by our official authorities.”
