Flash development regarding the Nihal and Bahar Candan sisters

As part of an investigation conducted by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention warrants were issued for social media influencers Alisya Bahar Candan, Gülnihal Çiçek (known publicly as Nihal Candan), and Hacı İsrafil Sağlam on charges of being 'members of a criminal organization'. Detained on November 14, the sisters Nihal and Bahar Candan were arrested on November 16 on charges of 'membership in a criminal organization' and sent to prison.

OBJECTION TO DETENTION REJECTED

Following the arrest of the Nihal and Bahar Candan sisters, their lawyer filed a petition on November 20, objecting to their detention and requesting their release. The petition also requested that they be released under judicial control if they were not granted full release. The court, having evaluated the objection petition filed for the detention of the Nihal and Bahar Candan sisters, issued a rejection.

THEY WERE ARRESTED ON THIS CHARGE

Sisters Bahar and Nihal Candan were arrested by the Küçükçekmece Criminal Court of Peace on November 16.

The court explained the arrest as follows;

"Considering the suspects' statements in the file, the complainants' testimonies, all information and documents in the file, the presence of witness statements, and the fact that the evidence in the file has not been fully collected, it has been decided that they be arrested, taking into account the lower and upper limits of the penalty prescribed by law for the alleged act, the suspicion of flight, and the fact that it is among the catalog crimes, as judicial control measures would not provide sufficient and effective legal supervision."
