Strong reaction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Al-Aqsa Mosque raid

While Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip continue, one of the latest places to be raided was the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Following the Israeli raid, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the attack and stating that it damages the hope for peace.

The statement read as follows:

''We condemn in the strongest possible terms the raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque today (August 3) by certain Israeli ministers, under the protection of Israeli police and accompanied by Israeli settler groups.

The security of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the protection of the sacred identity of Jerusalem is a priority responsibility not only for the region but also on behalf of the common conscience of humanity.

These systematic provocations by the occupying Israel and its recent calls for annexation target the foundations of the two-state solution and deeply harm hopes for peace.

In the face of Israel's ongoing destabilizing actions in Palestine and the region, we reiterate our call for an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of a lasting peace based on a two-state solution.''
