Forest fire investigation: Yılmaz Tunç announces the number of people arrested since June 26

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç provided an update regarding the investigations launched following the forest fires.

Minister Tunç, who was conducting inspections in Karabük, announced that as a result of the investigations carried out since June 26, 21 people have been arrested and judicial control measures have been imposed on 47 others.

In a post on his X account, Tunç stated the following:

We conducted inspections in the forest fire area in our province of Karabük, which has caused us all great pain. We received information about the self-sacrificing efforts that are ongoing.

All institutions of our state have been on the ground since the very first moment, standing by our citizens.

Firefighting efforts are continuing without interruption.

I wish strength to all our forest heroes who are fighting against the flames and working with all their might.

I convey my best wishes for a speedy recovery to our fellow citizens in Karabük affected by the fire.

The judicial investigations launched by our Public Prosecutor's Offices regarding the forest fires that have broken out in our various provinces since June 26 are being carried out meticulously. So far, 21 of the suspects taken into custody have been arrested, and judicial control measures have been imposed on 47 of them.
