Former AKP deputy makes statement on Ayhan Bora Kaplan and political coup against the government

Tayyar made a statement regarding the allegations that police officers detained within the scope of the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation were planning a ‘coup’.

Tayyar said, “The mafia is conducting an operation against the state. Someone is settling their own personal scores.”

Tayyar shared the following message on his X account:

“Let us explain the Ayhan Bora Kaplan incident without getting bogged down in conspiracy theories and without mixing apples and oranges. The prosecutor's office has completed the investigation, the indictment has been accepted by the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court, and the first hearing of the case with 61 defendants, 28 of whom are under arrest, was held between April 15-26.

The second round of the case begins this Monday (May 20/24).

Furthermore, there are two separate secret witnesses in the file with the codes ‘M7’ and ‘Ü5’. There is not a single name or implication of any politician anywhere in the indictment or the secret witness testimonies. In that case, what kind of similarity does this have to December 17?

“THE ONE WHO LIT THE FUSE IS AYHAN BORA KAPLAN”

However, the December 17 coup attempt, centered on the judiciary and the police, was launched entirely through a file covering politicians. The subject was politicians. The claim that 280 people were wiretapped, as in the Selam Tevhid conspiracy, also turned out to be a lie. The statement by the General Directorate of Security is clear.

It was also understood that the claim that Uğur Dündar participated in the interrogation was a tall tale. So where does the fuss come from? The one who lit the fuse is Ayhan Bora Kaplan himself. He is sending a message to his friends within the judiciary and the police with whom he is associated: ‘If I burn, you burn too.’ And the strategy is being staged at the first hearing.

Kaplan says at the hearing, ‘40-50 names were put in front of me,’ but he does not give names. However, this is not in his initial statement. This statement from a month ago did not find any traction in the media either.

That was until the second wave of operations by secret witness Serdar Sertçelik, who was smuggled abroad. Sertçelik, in order to turn the pass Kaplan threw in court into a goal, publishes the records of his meeting with Deputy Branch Manager of Organized Crimes Şevket Demircan, says that Kaplan is a respectable businessman, and mentions the names of politicians. All coup scenarios are based on this meeting held by this secret witness after he was smuggled abroad.

There are, of course, those who got caught in the net while some organization members were being followed. Especially a prosecutor and some lawyers who are very well known in Ankara. This group, in order to appear powerful in their phone conversations, mentions names and talks about being close with some politicians and bureaucrats, spreading hope. These baseless allegations caught in the wiretap records are also being filtered out in the investigation.

“BEING USED AS MATERIAL FOR THE SCENARIO”

When a coup scenario is written through a secret witness, baseless allegations that were not added to the case file are also brought to the agenda and used as material for the scenario. As in the Akın Gürlek incident. There is no surveillance there that directly targets Gürlek personally. In short, if it is determined who smuggled the secret witness out and who convinced him to change his testimony and implicate politicians in the case, the matter will be better understood. I would like to open a separate parenthesis for the police chief on the other side of the conversation. Where does he stand in this setup?

“THE MAFIA IS CONDUCTING AN OPERATION AGAINST THE STATE”

In summary… The mafia is conducting an operation against the state. Someone is settling their own personal scores. Some are hollowing out July 15. I wanted to explain this as someone who has taken a stance against every coup attempt and memorandum experienced during the AK Party's 22-year rule without exception. Moreover, if there were a coup attempt, let alone me, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would not leave a stone unturned.”

“IT SHOULD NOT BE SEEN AS A COUP ATTEMPT”

The main proposition in the last post is that what is happening in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case cannot be seen as a ‘coup attempt’.

In this context, I explained the course of the investigation and the case. I waited for a long time before making this analysis, I did not want to make a mistake, I researched it from many angles.

Ultimately, I wrote it because my commitment to the democratic regime and my party requires it. There may be those who object, those who think differently; they can write without insulting, based on information, no problem at all.

As for Sabah columnist Abdurrahman Şimşek's reference to Uğur Dündar… I thank him for the careful and polite tone he used even while criticizing.

However, the claim that Dündar participated in the interrogation appears in a defendant's statement, but there is no concrete data to confirm this. A defendant's claim can be reported, but it is only a claim, not the truth itself. I wish we could have remembered to wait for the HTS record before presenting it as if it were the truth.

Moreover, it is not my job to protect Dündar's legal rights. I only included it out of the need to not dilute the file.

If we accepted every word of the defendants as true, the court would not have needed to be established.

So, is there no problem at all in the investigation and trial process?

Of course there is.

There is stupidity, negligence, abuse, incompetence, team warfare, and conflict of interest.

But the file is not a political coup file against the government.

This is the summary of my point.
