Former Beşiktaş player speaks out for the first time: He called the President to convince me
Former Brazilian Beşiktaş player Adriano stated that Arda Turan acted as an intermediary for his transfer to Beşiktaş during the coup attempt period and called the President to convince him.
A portion of the statements made by the Brazilian defender regarding his transfer process to Beşiktaş, while speaking to Cansel Kemiksiz on YouTube, has been shared.
'GREAT PLAYERS HAVE PLAYED IN TURKEY'
In the interview, Adriano said the following regarding his transfer:
"When the offer came from Beşiktaş, I had questions in my mind. There had been a terrorist attack and a coup attempt in Istanbul. At that time, Arda Turan was with me at Barcelona. I asked him, 'There is an offer from Turkey, what should I do?' Arda said, 'It will be very good for Turkish football. Great players have played in Turkey.'"
'I asked, 'How is the situation regarding the country's security?' When I said that, he said he would call the President, and he did; he said that 'everything is fine.' I said, 'Okay, I accept.'"
