Explosive claim from former CHP deputy: Kılıçdaroğlu told me 'The Community wants to get closer to us'

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has been reinstated as CHP Chairman following a court ruling of absolute nullity regarding the 38th Ordinary Congress, where Özgür Özel was elected chairman.

Kılıçdaroğlu went to the CHP Headquarters yesterday (May 30) for the first time in 2.5 years and held a rally at 14:00 in his capacity as 'Chairman'. Kılıçdaroğlu, who targeted Özgür Özel and his administration without naming them, drew attention with his 'FETÖ' remarks.

Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "Standing before you is a man with a clear conscience and head held high, who has never had the slightest connection with any foreign-focused structure, especially the FETÖ terrorist organization. I owe an apology to this nation and to the party. I apologize to you for not being able to notice in time the agents of the FETÖ terrorist organization, who sold their souls and stealthily infiltrated the sacred march I started for the salvation, justice, and bright future of this nation."

While these remarks, in which Kılıçdaroğlu alluded to FETÖ, sparked debate, İhsan Özkes, a 24th and 25th term CHP Istanbul deputy, made striking statements.

"KILIÇDAROĞLU TOLD ME 'THE COMMUNITY WANTS TO GET CLOSER TO US, WHAT DO YOU SAY?'"

Sharing a post on his social media account, Özkes stated that he listened to Kılıçdaroğlu's remarks about FETÖ with 'astonishment' and shared the dialogue that took place between him and Kılıçdaroğlu at the CHP Headquarters in 2013:

“I listened to Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu's remarks about FETÖ yesterday with astonishment.

The CHP-FETÖ relationship must have begun, because around 2013, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu said to me in his office at the Headquarters, 'The Community wants to get closer to us, what do you say?'

I said, “The CHP identity is by no means suitable for this rapprochement. If the CHP and the Community are to cooperate, the Community may get closer to us for its own benefit. However, this rapprochement contradicts the CHP identity. This would harm our party and our country.”

Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu was annoyed and said nothing. Later, I stayed away from the CHP's relations with FETÖ.

When FETÖ saw that it could not reach its goal with Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu and his CHP, it (pardon my expression) used Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu and discarded him.

For this reason, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu's remarks yesterday regarding FETÖ do not align at all with the 'honesty' he constantly claims for himself.”

"I REALIZED THAT KILIÇDAROĞLU WAS MEETING WITH FETÖ MEMBERS"

Continuing his statement, Özkes recounted an incident he witnessed in 2014:

“An example: As a member of the CHP Party Assembly, I was responsible for Düzce. (I am a former Mufti of Akçakoca). In 2014, I attended an event in Akçakoca that Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu also attended. Then we went to a hotel. At the hotel, I looked and saw that some people were keeping me busy; meanwhile, Kılıçdaroğlu and those with him were gone.

I went to where Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu was in the hotel.

Someone said, “Kılıçdaroğlu has a meeting.”

I said, ‘The other deputies are there, let me go in too.’

They said, ‘If they wanted you to be there, you would be there.’

Later, I realized that Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu was meeting with FETÖ members.”
