Former CHP district chair detained on 'bribery' charges
In Antalya's Serik district, the former CHP Serik District Chair has been detained as part of a "bribery" investigation.
It is alleged that Y.E., who served as the CHP Serik District Chair between 2018 and 2020, demanded 1 million TL from businessman Ü.Ş. in Serik in exchange for facilitating a matter at an institution in Antalya, with 400 thousand TL to be paid in advance. Following this, businessman Ü.Ş. reported the situation to judicial authorities.
As part of the investigation initiated, Y.E. was caught red-handed and detained by gendarmerie teams at the moment he received the 400 thousand TL, for which the serial numbers had been recorded. The processing of Y.E. at the gendarmerie station is ongoing.
