Former president of Super Lig team detained in operation targeting CHP-run municipality!
Former Antalyaspor President Aziz Çetin has been detained as part of a corruption investigation into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.
In an operation conducted yesterday as part of a bribery investigation into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, detention warrants were issued for 20 people on allegations of irregularity and corruption. While 16 of these individuals were taken into custody, 10 have been released as of today.
One of the notable figures in the operation was former Antalyaspor Club President Aziz Çetin. Çetin was detained at his home this morning due to corruption allegations regarding excavation fees. According to the allegations, there are irregularities concerning approximately 2 billion TL in excavation fees that were supposed to be transferred to the club under a protocol signed between the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and the Antalyaspor Club.
While some of the other detained individuals have been released, those whose proceedings are ongoing as part of the investigation include Metin A., who served as deputy mayor during the first term of Muhittin Böcek, who has been temporarily suspended from the Antalya Metropolitan Mayoralty. Metin A. has been transferred to Istanbul as part of a separate investigation being conducted there.
