Found dead in the vehicle he had been living in for 10 years

The incident occurred around 14:00 on Mimar Sinan Street in Barbaros Neighborhood, Ataşehir.

According to allegations, local residents who saw a person lying motionless in the back of a light commercial vehicle with the license plate 34 NPN 21, which was parked on the street, reported the situation to the police and medical teams.

Medical teams determined that the individual had passed away during their examination. Initial findings indicate that the person died due to a heart attack.

HE HAD BEEN LIVING IN THE VEHICLE FOR 10 YEARS

The investigation revealed that the person who lost his life inside the vehicle was 58-year-old İrfan Kordon. It was learned that Kordon had separated from his wife years ago, had been living in the light commercial vehicle for about 10 years, slept on a bed in the back of the vehicle at night, and earned his living by selling fruits and vegetables. After the examinations at the scene, Kordon's body was placed in a hearse and taken to the morgue.

A citizen named Abdulfez Beyter said, "Ambulances came last evening, checked him, and then left. After the morning prayer, they checked again, saw there was nothing, and left again. They came back an hour or half an hour ago and saw that the door was open.

When they saw the door open, they realized he had died. This man separated from his wife more or less 10 years ago. He has been living in the car for years. He sometimes buys fruits and vegetables from the wholesale market and brings them here. He meets his daily needs by selling them here. He lives in the car, sleeps and wakes up there. He uses the mosque for his restroom needs. The local neighbors and friends were helping him. He was a brother who harmed no one and made his living by selling fruits and vegetables," he said.

Mine Ayan, who had bought fruit from İrfan Kordon the day before and came to pay the 20 TL she owed him only to find that Kordon had passed away, stated, "He was sleeping in the car. He was selling fruits and vegetables; I was buying everything, peaches, beans, oranges, lemons, from this man. I had a 20 lira debt. I bought peaches from here yesterday," she said.
