Fraud operation in 12 provinces

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that an organized crime network of 230 people, with a detected transaction volume of 3 billion 150 million Turkish Lira in their accounts, has been dismantled in simultaneous operations across 12 provinces.

Fraud operation in 12 provinces

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced in a statement on his social media account that 12 separate organized crime groups linked to fraud were targeted in comprehensive operations carried out by gendarmerie teams across 12 provinces.

230 SUSPECTS APPREHENDED, 93 ARRESTED

In raids conducted under the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and coordinated by the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) and Cybercrime Departments, 230 suspects with a total transaction volume of 3 billion 150 million Turkish Lira were apprehended. Of these individuals, 93 were arrested, and judicial control measures were imposed on 100 others. Proceedings regarding the remaining suspects are ongoing.

LONG LIST OF CRIMES: FROM FRAUD TO EXTORTION

Investigations have been launched against the apprehended suspects for serious charges including; establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, forgery of official documents, qualified fraud, qualified extortion, illegal betting, defrauding public institutions, laundering assets derived from crime, bribery, threats, and blackmail.

BILLIONS IN ASSETS SEIZED

In examinations conducted with the support of MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board), assets determined to have been derived from crime were seized, including 9 real estate properties, 27 vehicles, 1 workplace, 2 plots of land, and 2 million TL in bank deposits. Additionally, numerous unlicensed firearms, narcotics, cash, checks and promissory notes, digital materials, computers, and mobile phones were seized during the operations.
