Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has made an important decision for the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS), which will be held on June 21-22. According to the statement, public transportation will be free for students and exam proctors on the days of the exam.
WHICH PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES ARE INCLUDED?
In its statement, IMM specified that free transportation will be valid on all public transport vehicles integrated into the Istanbulkart system. In this context:
IETT buses
Private public buses
Metrobus
Metro, tram, funicular, and cable car lines
Nostalgic tram and tunnel
City line ferries
will provide free service. However, to benefit from this service, students must show their exam entry documents, and proctors must show their duty documents.

DURING WHICH HOURS WILL IT BE VALID?
The public transportation service will be valid not only during exam hours but also from 2 hours before the start of the exam until 2 hours after it ends. This will allow both students and proctors to reach exam centers easily without experiencing transportation issues.
LUNCH PACK SUPPORT IN 38 DISTRICTS
IMM did not limit its support to transportation alone. The statement also indicated that lunch packs will be distributed to students at 38 schools located in 38 districts on the day of the exam. This service aims to meet the nutritional needs of young people before they face the stress of the exam.
