The fire broke out in the attic of a 6-story building in a residential complex in the Bağlaraltı neighborhood of Bursa's central Yıldırım district. As the flames grew rapidly and engulfed the building's roof, the fire could be seen from many parts of the city. Numerous fire crews were dispatched to the scene of the fire, which caused moments of fear for neighborhood residents. As a result of the intensive efforts of the teams, the fire was brought under control and extinguished.
While there was no loss of life in the fire, the building sustained material damage.
