The incident occurred in the morning hours in the Bostanbaşı neighborhood of the Yeşilyurt district. According to reports, a fire broke out in one of the apartment buildings within the Sadabad residences located on Barguzu Street. Upon notification that smoke had quickly engulfed the building, police, medical, and fire crews were dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that the fire started in the apartment where three young siblings were present while their parents were not at home; the children were rescued by neighbors and taken out of the building. While the fire was brought under control and extinguished through the intervention of the crews, the children affected by smoke inhalation and the neighbor who rescued them, identified as K.K., received medical attention in an ambulance. In the incident, where police teams conducted an investigation in the apartment, the three siblings were subsequently taken to the Pediatric Ward of Malatya Training and Research Hospital as a precautionary measure.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, while the young children continue to receive treatment at the hospital.
