Funeral of killer who murdered a family in Mersin and died by suicide in prison rejected by his village

The incident took place in a house in Mersin's İlemin Neighborhood. After a fire broke out in the house, teams arriving at the scene determined that the mother, Nurgül, and her son, Emrullah Kaya (11), had died after being partially burned.

Four kilometers away from the house, the father, Neşet Kaya's body was found completely burned inside a vehicle.

Following the transfer of the bodies to the Forensic Medicine Institute, investigations at the scene and autopsies determined that the father had been stabbed to death before being set on fire. 

It was understood that the mother and son had been killed after being rendered unconscious.

THE KILLER WAS FROM THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD

Security forces, who examined all surrounding security cameras from the first moment of the incident and conducted detailed field work, quickly identified the suspect as H.E. (35), who lived in the same neighborhood.

It was revealed that the suspect had sold the wedding ring of the murdered Nurgül Kaya to a jeweler in the district's Kargıpınarı Neighborhood.

Upon this, gendarmerie teams identified the address of the suspect's mother-in-law in another neighborhood where he was staying. The teams conducted an operation at the address and apprehended the suspect.

HE PAID OFF HIS DEBT ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT

H.E., whose procedures were completed at the gendarmerie, was taken to the hospital for a health check the day before and referred to the courthouse. The suspect was brought before the duty magistrate, arrested, and sent to prison.

While efforts were ongoing to locate approximately 800 thousand TL worth of bracelets and various jewelry, excluding the wedding ring of the murdered Nurgül Kaya, a person who saw the murder suspect in the news stated that the suspect had brought him a 22-karat, 67-gram bracelet worth approximately 160 thousand TL on the day of the incident to pay off his debt.

HIS FUNERAL WAS NOT ACCEPTED

It was learned that the murder suspect H.E., who was sent to Mersin E-Type Closed Prison after his arrest, died by suicide in his solitary cell by tearing his undershirt and t-shirt.

Upon notification that the killer's funeral would not be accepted by the residents of the village where the incident occurred, he was laid to rest in the Çiftlik Village Cemetery located in central Mersin.

The suspect's lifeless body, taken from the hearse, was buried with the participation of 10 people, excluding the officials.
