18 people arrested in 2nd wave operation targeting IMM! Dilek İmamoğlu's brother is among them

In the 2nd wave of the operation launched against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) over allegations of corruption and bribery, 52 out of 53 people for whom detention warrants were issued were taken into custody.

While 4 people were released under judicial control, 48 people were referred to the courthouse following their procedures at the police station. The arrest of 30 people, including high-level İBB officials, was requested.

18 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Judicial control measures in the form of a travel ban and mandatory reporting were applied to former İBB Real Estate Management Department Head Ali Ayçiçek, İSKİ Deputy General Manager Begüm Çelikdelen, CHP Zeytinburnu Mayoral Candidate Onur Soytürk, former CHP Eyüpsultan District Chair Sinan Akçiçek, and 4 other suspects, while house arrest was imposed on businessman Rasim Kaya, Zeynep Ayten Gözdem Ongun (wife of Murat Ongun), İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa, and İSKİ Environmental Protection Department Head Adem Şanlısoy. Dilek İmamoğlu’s brother Cevat Kaya, businessman Mete Mağden, Kültür A.Ş. Deputy General Manager Onur Aldı and Erdinç Çolak, Kültür A.Ş. Deputy Advertising Manager Hakan Karaköse, İBB Bosphorus Zoning Manager Elçin Karaoğlu, former İBB Information Technology Department Head Naim Erol Özgüner, İSTTELKOM A.Ş. General Manager Melih Geçek, Bakırköy Deputy Mayor Ali Rıza Akyüz, security guard Çağlar Türkmen, İBB Expropriation Branch Manager Fatih Özçelik, İBB Map Engineer Yakup Öner, European Side Municipal Police Branch Manager Hakan Aplak, Anatolian Side Municipal Police Branch Manager Nazan Başelli, Zoning and Urbanization Department Head Ramazan Gülten, former İBB Municipal Police Department Head Engin Ulusoy, Kültür A.Ş. Advertising Chief Gökhan Köseoğlu, and Metin Bal were arrested.

HOUSE ARREST FOR 4 PEOPLE, INCLUDING MURAT ONGUN'S WIFE

The court applied judicial control measures in the form of "house arrest" to İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa, Zeynep Ayten Gözdem Ongun (wife of İBB Advisor and MEDYA AŞ Board Chair Murat Ongun), İSKİ Environmental Protection and Control Department Head Adem Şanlısoy, and businessman Rasim Kaya.

26 PEOPLE RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL

Former Istanbul Zoning Construction AŞ General Manager Onur Soytürk, Sinan Akçiçek, former İBB Real Estate Management Department Head Ali Ayçiçek, İSKİ Deputy General Manager Begüm Çelikdelen, Ayhan Koç, former İBB Financial Services Department Head Murat Selvi, İBB Correspondence and Decisions Department Head Nurten Uğursoy, and Tuğba Figankaplan were released with a travel ban and judicial control.

It was reported that 3 of the 4 people released under judicial control were İSPER specialist Songül Çar and businessmen Fikret Şimşek and Yılmaz Şimşek.
