2025 sacrificial animal prices announced
As the 2025 Eid al-Adha approaches, the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) and the Turkish Red Crescent (Türk Kızılayı) have announced the prices for proxy-based animal sacrifice. Prices for both cattle and small livestock have also been clarified.
The Presidency of Religious Affairs has set the 2025 fee for proxy-based animal sacrifice at 13 thousand 500 TL domestically and 5 thousand 450 TL abroad. The Turkish Red Crescent has announced the fee as 13 thousand 250 TL for domestic and Gaza sacrifices, and 5 thousand 250 TL for international sacrifices.
CATTLE AND SMALL LIVESTOCK PRICES
Prices for cattle vary depending on the breed and weight of the animal. On average, cattle prices range between 90 thousand TL and 150 thousand TL. For small livestock, prices range between 9 thousand TL and 20 thousand TL.
LIVE WEIGHT PRICES
Live weight prices also differ according to the type of animal. While the live weight price for cattle ranges between 300 TL and 400 TL, the price for small livestock ranges between 350 TL and 380 TL per kilogram.
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN PURCHASING A SACRIFICIAL ANIMAL
It is important that the animal is healthy and meets the requirements for sacrifice when purchasing. Furthermore, it is recommended that those who will perform proxy-based sacrifice choose reliable institutions.
