After Meteorology, AKOM! Consecutive warnings issued: Pay attention to these districts in Istanbul

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued warnings regarding expected precipitation across Turkey.

While it was stated that the precipitation will mostly be in the form of rain and showers, it was noted that sleet and snow may be seen in the west of Marmara, the inner Aegean, the high parts of the Mediterranean, the inner parts of the Black Sea, and the north and east of Eastern Anatolia.

BEWARE OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION

Meteorology has issued warnings for locally heavy precipitation, particularly for the southeast of Eastern Anatolia, the east of Southeastern Anatolia, Istanbul, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova, Bursa, the north of Balıkesir, the inner parts of Çanakkale, Rize, Bingöl, and the surroundings of Şanlıurfa. It was reported that caution should be exercised against flooding and disruptions in transportation in these regions.

WHERE WILL IT SNOW IN ISTANBUL?

Meteorology, which issued a yellow-coded warning for Istanbul, announced that the showers will continue throughout the day. AKOM, on the other hand, announced that the precipitation may be seen as sleet and short-term snowfall in some districts.

Sleet and short-term snowfall are expected, especially in the high parts of Silivri, Çatalca, and Arnavutköy.

AKOM, which also issued a warning regarding the storm, stated that the wind will lose its effect starting from noon.

The warning from AKOM included the following:

"While the strong wind and storm are expected to lose their strength starting from noon, it is estimated that the precipitation, which will continue intermittently throughout the day, may be seen as sleet and short-term snowfall in the high parts of our Silivri, Çatalca, and Arnavutköy districts."
