A new detail has emerged regarding the signature campaign launched for the CHP's presidential candidate and imprisoned Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

It was reported that CHP members were collecting signatures for İmamoğlu at the Umut Container City established by AFAD in Hatay. According to a report by Sözcü, this campaign caused great tension among the residents of the city.

Container city residents stated that the message was sent to the group with AFAD's permission. While the issue created unease among the residents, some citizens expressed their reactions to AFAD. The threat of eviction from the city for citizens participating in the signature campaign further complicated the matter.

THREAT OF EVICTION FROM THE CONTAINER

According to the allegation, a threat was made that if the people collecting or providing signatures in the container city were identified, those individuals would be evicted from the container city.

It was stated that after the signature collection process initiated by CHP members in the Defne district of Hatay, a warning message was sent to the WhatsApp group where the city residents are located.

The message stated, "If those who sign or collect signatures for a party are identified, they will be evicted."

OVER 15 MILLION SIGNATURES COLLECTED

According to information obtained from sources close to the party regarding the campaign launched by the CHP for Ekrem İmamoğlu's presidential candidacy, over 15 million signatures had been collected by CHP members and at solidarity ballot boxes.
