Backstage buzz: Explosive claim regarding CHP's presidential candidate following the IMM indictment!

The indictment for the IMM investigation, in which CHP's presidential candidate and IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been detained since March 23, has been prepared.

It was noted that the 3900-page indictment includes 402 suspects and 143 acts. Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is accused of 142 acts, faces a prison sentence ranging from 828 to 2352 years.

Following the indictment, discussions regarding the presidential candidacy within the CHP have returned to the public agenda.

CHP leader Özgür Özel had previously stated in his remarks that if İmamoğlu were unable to run, he would definitively not be a candidate himself.

However, a remarkable claim has been put forward by Nefes columnist Aytunç Erkin. Speaking on Ekol TV, Erkin stated that according to internal evaluations within the CHP, Özgür Özel is emerging as the party's candidate.

In his statement, Erkin said that Özel does not have a plan in mind for Mansur Yavaş's candidacy.

Emphasizing that Özel's primary goal is his own candidacy, Erkin used the expressions, "The CHP's candidate will be Özgür Özel. In fact, Özgür Özel does not have Mansur Yavaş's candidacy in mind; he has himself."

HADI ÖZIŞIK'S ASSESSMENT ON IMMUNITY

Journalist Hadi Özışık, on the other hand, brought the immunity debate to the agenda.

Stating that the political process could accelerate if Özel's immunity is lifted, Özışık said, "If Özgür Özel's immunity is lifted, his candidacy will be moved forward."
