Striking details have emerged regarding the background of the US attack on three strategic nuclear facilities in Iran (Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan).

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing senior White House officials and sources close to the matter, the initial approval for the operation was given during a special security meeting held in the White House "Situation Room" on June 17.

The report states that former US President Donald Trump instructed his presidential team to carry out the attack within two weeks, but this timeline was intentionally manipulated to strike at a "moment no one expected."

Sources speaking to the WSJ stated that the timing of the attack was chosen with particular care, and the primary goal was to "disrupt the nuclear process by acting at a moment Iran did not expect."

It was emphasized that intelligence reports regarding the current state of Iran's nuclear activities were influential in the planning process of the attack. It was reported that Trump "remained on standby" for the final decision but approved the preparation of military operation plans.

TRUMP AND NETANYAHU SPOKE BY PHONE AFTER THE ATTACK

Immediately following the operation, there was intense diplomatic traffic between the US and Israel. According to the report, Trump held a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly after the attack took place.

It was reported that during the call, Netanyahu said, "We are incredibly grateful. This is a historic stance against Iran." It was alleged that Israel was informed prior to the attack and provided some intelligence support.
