Breaking News: 18 new detentions in drug investigation involving celebrities!

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued detention orders for 18 individuals as part of a drug investigation targeting celebrities.

The statement released by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office noted the following:

“Within the scope of investigation file 2025/280882 of our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau of Investigation for Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes; in accordance with our instructions, detention, search, and seizure operations were carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Division and Organized Crimes Division.

18 suspects, who are considered to have committed the crimes of ‘drug trafficking, facilitating the use of drugs, and encouraging someone to engage in prostitution, facilitating the path to this, or acting as an intermediary for prostitution or providing a venue for it,’ have been detained as part of the investigation targeting celebrities. The investigation is continuing meticulously.”

On the other hand, it had been alleged that volleyball player Derya Çayırgan was also detained as part of the aforementioned investigation.

However, it was learned that Çayırgan was detained as part of the IMM (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality) investigation.
