Car wash prices in Istanbul reach 1,000 TL!

The rise in car wash prices across Turkey has caused frustration among more than 30 million vehicle owners. In major cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, fees of up to 500 TL are being charged for an exterior wash alone. Prices for interior and exterior cleaning can reach as high as 800 TL.

PRICES REACH 1,000 TL IN SHOPPING MALLS

Prices are even higher for large vehicles such as SUVs and pickup trucks. Some car wash businesses located inside shopping malls are charging between 750 and 1,000 TL for such vehicles. According to a report by Hürriyet, drivers seeing these figures are finding solutions either in automatic car wash machines at gas stations or by washing their own vehicles themselves.

Automatic car wash machines, which were once overlooked, have become popular again due to their affordable prices. Long queues are now forming in front of these machines, which provide service for an average of 200 TL. They are receiving intense interest from drivers because they are both economical and practical.

PRESSURE WASHER SALES INCREASED

“I will wash my car myself from now on,” say those who have opted for high-pressure washers, which broke sales records in the first quarter of 2025. According to data from an e-commerce site, there was a 90 percent increase in demand for this product category during the January-March 2025 period.

These devices, which have become attractive to drivers, can be purchased for an average of 10,000 TL. According to experts, the machine pays for itself after approximately 25 washes.
