Cold weather continues to affect Turkey! Schools closed in some provinces

According to the forecasts of the General Directorate of Meteorology, the cold wave will continue to have an effect. For this reason, it is stated that school closure decisions may expand and new announcements may be made.

1-DAY BREAK FOR BUSING EDUCATION IN TUNCELİ

In a statement made by the Tunceli Governor's Office, it was announced that busing education has been suspended for 1 day on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, due to heavy snowfall and the risk of icing. The closure decision, which will be valid in the Tunceli City Center and all districts, took into account potential disruptions in transportation.

SNOW OBSTACLE TO EDUCATION IN BAYBURT

Schools in the Demirözü district of Bayburt were closed for 1 day as snowfall intensified. According to the statement made by the District Governor's Office, disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions will also be considered on administrative leave due to heavy snowfall.

SCHOOLS CLOSED IN GÜMÜŞHANE KELKİT

All public and private educational institutions in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane were closed on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, due to heavy snowfall. In the statement made by the District Governor's Office, it was stated that pregnant, disabled, and chronically ill personnel working in the public sector would also be considered on administrative leave.

EDUCATION SUSPENDED IN 5 DISTRICTS OF BİNGÖL

The Bingöl Governor's Office announced that education has been suspended in the city center and 5 districts, taking into account the heavy snowfall across the city and potential negative impacts on transportation. The districts of Adaklı, Karlıova, Kiğı, Yayladere, and Yedisu were also included in the snow-related school closures. In addition, disabled and pregnant public officials, as well as female personnel with children of kindergarten and nursery age, will be on administrative leave.
