Decision to continue detention had been made: A decision from Fatih Altaylı that will sadden his viewers!

Journalist Fatih Altaylı, who is being tried while in detention on allegations of using "threatening expressions" against AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, appeared before a judge for the first time on October 3 at the Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court.

In line with the prosecutor's request, the court ruled for the continuation of Altaylı's detention and set the date for the next hearing as November 26.

Following the hearing, a notable decision came from Fatih Altaylı. Altaylı, who did not interrupt his YouTube channel broadcasts or news content even during his 3-month period in prison, announced that this time he is taking a break from broadcasting of his own volition.

In the video titled "A little leave for us" published on Altaylı's channel this morning, it was stated that the journalist would not continue his YouTube broadcasts for a while.

The reasons for Altaylı's break from broadcasting were listed as follows:

You know what happened on Friday. A decision was made to continue my detention. I was surprised.

As such, I had to make changes to my plans. I had previously said that if I were released on October 3, I would take a little vacation. On the other hand, I have stents in my heart that were inserted 7 years ago, and there is an enlargement in my aorta.

It needs to be monitored by taking measurements every 6 months. Under normal circumstances, I was supposed to have this measurement done in September, but I had postponed it with the possibility of being released, as I did not want to have it done by a doctor I did not know and in a hospital I did not know, which the prison would send me to.

Since I could not be released, I did not want to postpone it any further. I will now have to have these examinations done here.

The lump on my shoulder that I mentioned before must not have reached its target either, as its effect on my arm has made writing and taking notes very painful, and it is essential that this is also taken care of. Do not worry, my health is fine, but since I was not released, I can no longer postpone these matters.

On the other hand, I am tired. Although prison may seem like an easy place because it is lived in a room, in a cell, it tires a person both physically and mentally.

I want to rest a little without drowning in this intense agenda. Also, I am afraid of repeating myself in a place where access to information is difficult. As you can see, I ask for your permission for a while.
